DESCRIPTION:Join Ci in the studio to discover the floor-to-air research for their new aerial dance project. The work explores our interdependence in an inhospitable world where our existence is at the mercy of external circumstances. Augmented by a soundscape of planetary recordings\, the work underscores our vulnerability in a universe of chaos\, while highlighting the resilience and hope in collectivity. \nThis informal sharing of work in progress will include a talkback with members of the artistic team. \nWorld Premiere Performances November 2022

DESCRIPTION:The Days is a collaboration between the exceptional Finnish dancers Maria Nurmela and Ville Oinonen\, and English choreographer Theo Clinkard\, who has built an international reputation for creating deeply affecting\, visually arresting work. This intimate duet is constructed from a single physical concept that sustains and evolves throughout the work\, and engenders a world of ever-shifting negotiations to examine the complexities of coexistence. Caught in a loop of impassioned exchanges\, the dancers trace a journey that echoes a lifetime shared\, through sublimely nuanced physicality. SUMMARY:V’ni Dansi
DESCRIPTION:Led by Artistic Director Yvonne Chartrand\, V’ni Dansi (‘Come and Dance’ in Mitchif) is dedicated to sharing the stories and culture of the Mitchif (Métis)\, through both traditional and contemporary dance. La Mitchin di Mitchif (Mitchif Medicines) is a new Indigenous contemporary dance work created through an international collaboration with Santa Fe’s Dancing Earth. Co-choreographed by Chartrand and Dancing Earth Artistic Director Rulan Tangen\, the work is inspired by cultural ancestral knowledge of Mitchif plant medicines. \nPost-show talkback with the artists June 19. \nCo-presented with V’ni Dansi and Full Circle: First Nations Performance as part of the Talking Stick Festival. \nPhoto by Chris Randle
