Once framed through a male gaze that fetishized and vilified Black femininity, the vixen now steps into her own frame\u2014stretching the image until its artifice becomes her authorship.<\/p>\n<p>Drawing from the glossy aesthetics of MTV-era music videos and the syrupy deceleration of Southern hip hop remix culture, this electrifying solo work deconstructs the myths of the \u201chip hop honey,\u201d refracting her through feminist, racial, and cultural awakenings. What emerges is a portrait of a woman both muse and maker: unapologetic and self-possessed.
